Rising gold prices bring back old jewellery to market


A price push-up in gold has increased the entry of recycled gold in the Indian market. In the first three quarters of 2012, the country recycled 89 tonne of gold as against 36 tonne in the same period last year. Market sources said a large portion of recycled gold has come from farmers who have offloaded it to meet rising input costs.
